What happens in our nation's capitol affects Mainers
While many decisions affecting reproductive rights are made at the state level, Congress and the President also have a lot of power to limit or expand access. The current administration and leadership in Congress have made it clear they would like to limit abortion rights and eliminate federal family planning funding. Since inauguration day, they have made targeted policy attacks on fellow provider, Planned Parenthood, and an attack on one abortion provider is an attack on all.
Maine Family Planning works closely with Maine's Congressional delegation to keep them informed about what's happening here in Maine and how Mainers would be affected by pending legislation.
