Medical Assistant

 

We are seeking a full-time, hourly (37.5 hours per week) Medical Assistant for our Lewiston site.  Within the next several months, the candidate will cover additional sites in Central and Western Maine.

Position Summary:

The primary role of this position is to assist family planning providers in the delivery of administrative and clinical duties. Candidate must have the capability to be flexible with their schedule. This position involves a significant amount of travel.

Qualifications:

  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA guidelines
  • Experience working with electronic medical records preferred

Prevention Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Prevention Coordinator will provide technical assistance and support to youth-serving community organizations and schools to implement evidence-base programs to prevent teen pregnancy. This is a full time position (37.50 hours per week) with travel involved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, health education, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth-serving organizations or schools to implement prevention programs (minimum of 2-4 years professional experience preferred).
  • Commitment to a comprehensive approach to sexuality education and teen pregnancy prevention.
  • Substantial knowledge of issues related to teen pregnancy prevention and/or youth prevention programming.
  • Knowledge of process, outcome and impact evaluation.  Experience in planning and conducting project evaluation is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Commitment to evidence-based approaches and implementing such programs and curriculums with fidelity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in collaborating with other youth-serving professionals to implement prevention programs.
  • Valid driver’s license.  The position may require considerable travel (mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed).

Nurse Practitioner – Augusta Region

Position Summary:

Maine Family Planning seeks a part-time, (4 days a week) Nurse Practitioner to join its team. The NP’s primary role is to provide family planning clinical services to patients in accordance with written and approved guidelines, regulatory compliance, and national standards of care.  NP also may need to attend statewide meetings and professional development workshops. This position will cover our clinics within an hour’s drive of Augusta. Candidate must be flexible and willing to travel.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse License in the State of Maine.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program or approved as an NP in Maine prior to 1996.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification eligible.  Certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment or approved as an NP in Maine prior to 1996.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Per Diem Nurse Practitioner – Augusta Region

Position Summary:

Maine Family Planning seeks Per Diem Nurse Practitioners to join its team. The NP’s primary role is to provide family planning clinical services to patients in accordance with written and approved guidelines, regulatory compliance, and national standards of care.   This position will cover our clinics within an hour’s drive of Augusta.

  • Current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse License in the State of Maine.
